Frequently Asked Questions(13K)

1) When are motor boats, canoes, kayaks and peddleboats available?
Answer: Power and non-powered watercraft are available from May longweekend
to Thanksgiving weekend in October. For the safety of our customers we must
adhere to these dates.

2) Do I need a Pleasure Craft Operator Card to use the boats at Sunny Point
Cottages?

Answer: As of 15 September 2002, ALL OPERATORS of motorised watercraft
under 14' in length will be required to show proof of having completed a
boating safety course in Canada prior to 01 April 1999, or will have to show
their Pleasure Craft Operator card, or complete a Rental-Boat Safety
Checklist prior to taking the boat.

3) What is the minimum age for operating a boat and motor at Sunny Point
Cottages?

Answer: The minimum age for Sunny Point guests to operate one of Sunny
Point's boats is 18 years of age.

4) Are there areas on the property where dogs are restricted?
Answer: Yes, we ask that you do not bring your pet(s) down to the lodge
area, including the beach and main dock.

5) What is the lake like to swim in?
Answer: Otter Lake is very clean and weed-free by our docks and beach. It
gets deep very quickly. We swim usually from June through to September, but
our record is 16 April until 09 December! Come join us for the polar bear
swims!

6) What is the closest town and how far away is it?
Answer: Parry Sound is the closest town and is approximately 20 minutes
away.

7) What kind of fish are in Otter Lake?
Answer: We have lake trout, northern pike, black crappie, smallmouth bass
and largemouth bass. Each cottage and unit comes equipped with wall-mounted
plaques that describe the fish to be caught, where to catch them, and how to
catch them. Laminated versions of this same map can be purchased in our
office. Please do not bring the plaque-mounted versions into the boat with
you! (Don't laugh - it has been done!)

8) What are the check-in and check-out times?
Answer: Check-in time is 2pm. Please appreciate that we have the entire
resort to turnover in high season, and we do want the accommodation spotless
with repairs done before your arrival. Check-out time is 9am, with the same
reasons as stated above. We want the resort in tip top shape for the arrival
of our next set of guests. During the off season, earlier check-in times and
later check-out times may be accommodated. Please call to request this.

9) Do you have a firepit or allow campfires?
Answer: No we don't have a firepit nor do we allow outside camp fires.
