Plea for fire victims

The Downtown Parry Sound Business Association is requesting assistance from Parry Sound area businesses and residents to help the dozen people who lost their homes and personal goods in the recent fire. These people will be needing help to re-establish themselves. Many lost everything they own. The Salvation Army has kindly offered to help register the donations and see that the fire victims receive what they need.

In order to help out the victims, the Salvation Army needs some information for contacting them and keeping in touch with them. Anybody who lost their residence in the fire or anybody who knows one of them and their whereabouts should contact the Salvation Army at 746-5391.

Items that are going to be needed include furniture, cooking utensils, dishes, linens, cleaning supplies & equipment, towels, non-perishable food items, basic condiments (vinegar, pepper, salt, ketchup, mustard, etc.) or you can give cash. Due to lack of storage space, donations will be registered and then picked up and delivered as they are needed.

If you wish to donate anything , or for more information, please contact the Salvation Army at 746-5391 or the Downtown Parry Sound Business Association at 746-6426, fax 746-2290.
