As it is always a delight to welcome old friends, the Festival of the Sound has invited England's Allegri String Quartet for its eighth visit since 1985. During the week of August 5 through 9, Festival audiences will hear the quartet's last concerts before Bruno Schrecker, their cellist since 1967, takes a well-deserved retirement and moves on to pursue his interests in photography. The works for the Noon Concerts were chosen by Bruno for this very special week in his life.
