The Sunflower is a small company that can provide the personal touch that is needed to help with your alternate energy project. System custom design, commissioning and technical services are available as well as components.

Custom designed protection & control and instrumentation is available upon request.

Site evaluations can be arranged which will be cost effective when working with a budget constraint. A budget is a good thing when starting out on a project, for it gives you the direction to cut out the things that are not really necessary at first. This also gives the equipment cost reality at present.

This can be accomplished with some careful planning which will leave room for system expansion in the future.

When time for expansion comes most of the previously purchased equipment can be reused in the new system. This gives the predicted economy for the expansion by the good planning at the beginning of the project.

The re-education of ourselves regarding alternate renewable source energy and about are thinking towards the use of energy MUST change for the future as non-renewable sources are depleted.

The applications of different alternate source energies vary greatly, for one application might be fine in one instance but may not apply to another effectively,regarding costs and availability. So as new ideas and technologies appear in the future so our thinking must be modified towards the uses of energy. As these "breakthroughs" come along our thinking becomes ever changing.

Since alternate source energy is not an inexpensive operation I think the costs will decrease with time,and what PRICE do we put on our environment?

If you are close to the grid a small system may be considered to try as an experiment,but the possibility may occur that you may be close to the grid and connection to the grid might NOT be cost effective. Then investigation of a "hybrid" system may be the answer for the future. A system may start off quite small and can be expanded easily to fill your needs. A "hybrid" system means that PV (photovoltaics) is combined with other sources of energy such as a generator, wind or water power (micro hydro).

When the different sources are combined and adjusted for the maximum efficiency for the four seasons, the cost for the energy is quite reasonable.

Now more planning for the future is required for the next enlarging of the system, as the load is bound to grow in size.

When the first expansion comes, some metering, telemetry and "smart" controllers probably will become necessary in order to manage the system effectively and efficiently.

These systems must be looked at, generally, in terms of thousands of dollars rather than hundreds. For the moment, this seems to be the case. As I said before, the cost effectiveness will improve in the near future as time goes on and electrical rates increase.

I truly believe this is the way of the future and we are the controllers of our own energy use.
