I'm currently serving in Bosnia-Herzegovina for six months and was surfing the Web and found this site. I read the guest book and was surprised to see so many names of people whom I grew up with and went to school with. It brought back many fond memories of my youthful days and even while here in Bosnia of how privileged we are to have a place to enjoy peace and harmony in the Muskoka Lake region. I will be coming home in 2nd week of March 03 to relax and unwind from the rigours and spoils of war that I have experienced over here. It's quite possible I may see some of you folks that are registered in this guestbook. Auf weidersehen for now, but I'll continue to monitor this site for the rest of my tour of operations in Bosnia. I just wanted to take a second to say that my heart goes out to the family, friends, fellow teachers, and students of Mike Kuhn. Mike was a friend of mine when we were in our late teens. He was the "cool" kid, and I was the kid that somehow "doesn't fit in". MIke always went out of his way to let me know that in his world there were no dividing walls...that he was my friend simply because he liked who I was. I think my success in life had a lot to do with his friendship... he gave me the confidence I needed to succeed in this world. I regret that I haven't seen or talked to Mike in the last 15 years...our lives just drifted apart. But I was honoured to attend his funeral today, and was touched by the love he so clearly extended to everyone who touched his life. My thoughts are with all of you. Alan

I would just like to say that I am feel deeply for those who knew Mr.Kuhn. I am proud to say that he was my favorite teacher at P.S.H.S. He would go out of his way to help those who needed it for class work and has even stayed after class to talk to those who needed to talk. He helped me in many ways, he was more of a friend than a teacher. I can't even imagine what his family is going through and I send my regrets to them. When i heard the news today I felt like my feet weren't touching the ground and a huge rock slammed into my chest. I would like to say a few words about Mr.Kuhn at the funeral if at all possible. From the information i have, his name is Robert Bushey and he and his mother used to sing at the Brunswick. He used to travel and after my mother gave birth to me, he left and always promised my mom he would come and see me. my family and i have gone to parry sound every year for as long as i can remember , either it is boating wich we stay at big sound marina , or snowmobiling wich i just got bak from yesterday. We came baack from the jolly roger in in parry sound . we went there with some friends to snowmobile!!! in the summer when we boat up , we even climbed into the tower. I know parry sound almost from top to bottom , i love it and i always will. i live in penetang but we have our ways of getting up there at least twice a year . Sincerly Jenna

I lived there with you all for about two years I made some really great friends. I really miss the the beautiful scenery and the friendly town folk. If you are thinking about vacation in this area I really recommend it this beautiful country(in the summer when its hot). The winters are pretty cold but some of you like it like that and if your a winter type this is the place.

When we were kids in the harbour we used to like to catch baby pigeons for pets. In order to do that you had to climb under the black train bridge and walk the inside ledge. We could have fallen about 80 feet to our painful deaths. But we didn't. As a kid in Parry Sound you had the run of the whole area. it was mostly safe save for the odd hobo that travelled on the still running steam engines. We planned our summers around which wild berries were growing. Stawberrie in early summer, raspberries a little later than blackberrie in August. What a life.
